BCRA Membership – What Do I Get For My $25?

Why do people run and hide when they see me coming to collect their $25 annual BCRA membership money? It gets REALLY crazy when people planning to purchase a one-weekend-only $10 membership start to hide! What’s the problem, people? Your $25 annual BCRA membership is a great deal:

You get access to the members’ section of the website

You get to play in sanctioned tournaments (the BCRA supports those tournaments by providing the tournament balls, score cards and draw sheets, publicizing the entry forms in the newsletter and on our web site, writing up tournament summaries in the newsletter, and providing whatever other assistance we can)

You provide support for BCRA programs that are specifically designed to support current players – rules clinics, funding to attend the nationals, skills clinics, rankings

You provide support for BCRA programs that are specifically designed to bring new players into the sport – junior development clinics and leagues, schools programs, promotions

You can attend rules clinics and skill-development clinics.

You are eligible to qualify for the Circuit Program (wherein people who play at least three tournaments can get funding to attend the nationals or get other prizes).

The BCRA Board is a lean machine—our administrative costs are minimal (phone, fax, photocopying, postage). We communicate by email, we hold meetings in places where the meeting space is free. Our aim is to put our effort and resources into programming to promote, support and grow our sport.

So please … the next a BCRA Board member asks you for your membership money, whip twenty-five bucks out of your wallet and support your sport with a smile!

See you at the next tournament.
